“Underneath the surface” is a illustration made for a postcard project containing images inspired by my home region Trøndelag in Norway. I chose to illustrate Munkholmen, a old monastery on a island right outside the city in the Trondheimsfjord, and now a popular spot for a summerswim. I really love living so close to the water and the nature. So instead of focusing a lot on the island itself I chose to illustrate a little love story and let nature be the main character in the illustration. The card was printed in CMYK and with a extra layer of shimmering turquoises foil, which gave a great highlight to the fishes and the sea.
